Whether you are getting near retirement age and thinking about your future, have a loved one who needs long-term care, or suddenly due to an emergency condition, you or a family member needs temporary help before returning home from a hospitalization, we are here to help you… for a week, a month or even long-term. When we mention home, we truly mean it. We have created an inter-generational family setting dedicated to helping one another grow through loving companionship, filled with joy and love. Together we are involved in a vibrant and never ending journey.
Just as you have in your home, our home has children, plants and animals. We believe when you are immersed in a real-world human habitat, your life is greatly improved by eliminating loneliness, helplessness and boredom. Home and family means many things to us: getting up in the morning when you want to, joining friends in our beautiful activity room for a delicious breakfast and hearing about all of the news of the day or listening to a chapter out of the latest book being read in book club. Maybe you prefer to stay in your room and have breakfast served to you.
As your day progresses there are plenty of fun things to do. We have cooking and baking, crafts, a picture puzzle in the works, bingo every day for those who love to play, and many outings that have included restaurants, stores, casino, and tulip fields.
One day each month, we all get together to plan the next month, including our menus. Lunch is served buffet style at noon. Our menus a varied and nutritious. Delicious snacks are ready at 1:30 and 7:30 pm, sometimes made by the residents. Dinner is served at 5:00 pm. Let’s say you are not a social butterfly and just want to be left alone. You can choose “in room dining” provided by our meal cart that serves the same menu being served in the dining room. Our kitchen staff can also accommodate special dietary needs. If you do not like something on the menu and want something different, just like at home, you have choices. Just ask your staff.
Quality staff in our home is always a number one priority. We pride ourselves in having very low staff turnover and maintaining consistent staffing on each neighborhood day after day. Most of our staff has been here for over five years. That includes nurses, nursing assistants and other departments. Our therapy department staff provides innovative and specialized programs to ensure that all residents progress as quickly as possible. We strive to help our residents attain their maximum level of independence and meet their goals. Our expectation is that you go home prepared to participate in your regular life once again.
We have numerous success stories. Many people have a hard time leaving us and may be nervous about returning home. We often follow up on our residents to help them get settled back in their own homes, and they often come back for a visit time and time again. We try our very best to make that transition as smooth as possible. Our therapy team is willing to provide a home evaluation to determine equipment needs in your home to allow for a safer discharge. Our Resident Care Coordinator will assist you in setting up services in your home such as help with activities of daily living and continued nursing and therapy, as well as obtaining equipment you may need at home. We will work with your doctor to make sure your medications are ordered and we coordinate with other agencies to assist in your transition home.
